Unlike low pressure casting, counter pressure casting allows for accurately adjusted filling velocity. By balancing cavity pressure, it prevents metal splashing and ensures smooth filling for complex, large-scale aluminum castings.
Metal crystallizes under high pressure, resulting in smaller crystal grains and improved feeding capacity. This significantly reduces shrinkage and pinholes, resulting in superior mechanical strength.
By adjusting the pressure differential (Δp), we obtain clearly shaped castings even for thin-walled designs, achieving lower surface roughness and higher size precision.
Harmful gas content is minimized by controlling partial pressure in the cavity. This process can even improve wear resistance by managing gas solubility during the high-pressure phase.
